If you are coming in for a chemical/color service please come to your appointment with clean hair (washed within 24 hours), and dry hair (or mostly) - preferably with no products in it.

That old saying that it's better for your hair to be dirty before you process it.. is a wife's tale.

For optimal results hair should be clean and free of build-up.

If you are coming in for a consultation it is still important to have clean hair so I can properly evaluate your hair.

The only exception to this rule would be those coming in for a hair clarifying treatment such as the Malibu Detox or those getting a service that entails lightener being applied to the scalp - in that case do not wash the hair 24-48 hours before your lightening service.

Most haircuts and blowouts can obviously come in with dirty hair as we will be washing it. Although for those receiving a fade haircut service, it is recommended the hair isn’t too dirty, as it fades better, and we usually save the wash for the end of the service to rinse out loose hairs.

Special occasion hairstyles should come with CLEAN DRY hair if not receiving a blowout with their updo or half updo.

I attended Academy for Salon Professionals of the San Fernando Valley in September of 2012, and graduated in October of 2013. I also attended and graduated from Western Barber Institute of Reseda in August and September of 2025.

I’ve attended countless classes, seminars, hair shows, and online education over the last 12 years to continue to stay up to date on industry trends and techniques.
